The Reds' brain trust met this afternoon after the season ticket holder luncheon to discuss what could be done about adding a bat to the Reds' roster. Reds' GM Walt Jocketty discussed the upcoming meeting during the question and answer period at the luncheon. This picture was taken at the news conference following the meeting and included the Reds top brass, Jocketty, the owner and team president, Bob Castellini, and frequently cited blogger, Dave Zahniser. No announcements regarding specific players were made, but Jocketty reportedly was considering Zahniser's suggestions of trading for Matt Holliday or (more likely) Wilson Betemit.

Sure you want Matt Holiday, what are his at-box records at GABP? He seems to be one of those hitters who benefitted from playing at Coors Field. Here is the three-year average from ESPN.com

The Coors factor with Holliday is overrated. Studies show that his slash stats on the road start to steadily improve throughtout a road trip, indicating that the longer he's away from Coors field the better he gets. This is a matter of adjusting to pitches away from Coors. Now that he's been away for a while, he'll start to heat up. In other words, the perfect time to trade for him. And at Pretty Good American Small Park, you have the benefit of a hitters' park, but without the effect on the pitch you get in Coors.
