Here are the guys that I can keep as minor leaguers for '09. I get to keep 4 and would like your opinion:
Taylor Teagarden
Kila Ka'aiuhe
Lars Anderson
Josh Barfield
Elvis Andrus
Travis Buck
Austin Jackson
Matt Murton
Clay Buchholz
I'm leaning toward Anderson, Andrus, Teagarden, and Jackson, while possibly keeping Buchholz on my major league roster.

I think Red Sox anticipate Bucholtz needing further development, so I'm not sure keeping him on the Major League roster will help you in the short-term.
On another note, I am anxiously awaiting your thoughts on the Joe Torre book. From the early reports and excerpts, I think it tarnishes his "classy" reputation a bit, especially in light of his stated "what happens in the clubhouse, stays in the clubhouse" philosophy.
Either way, I suppose I'll have to give it a full read to intelligently comment.
Under our rules, if I keep Buchholz on the major league roster and he starts in the minors then I can put him on my minor league roster and relplace him with a big leaguer, albeit a big leaguer that wasn't good enough to be drafted. It's another way of keeping an extra minor leaguer.
As far as the Torre book, I've been reading up on it, but don't have a blog post ready yet. Stay tuned.
One consideration: The Rangers have a glut of catching prospects. (Don't underestimate Max Ramirez chance to make the club this year or next.) I've heard Teagarten's name mentioned as possible trade bait. You definitely have some good prospects. I would probably take a chance on him and go with the four prospects that you mentioned.
Venice Lover,
Speaking of prospects, I guess I shouldn't have traded you Nelson R. Cruz. All of the magazines (and our website) are touting him.
Yeah, I probably should be doing time for grand theft. If I had a conscience I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. Thank God I don't have a conscience - well, not much of one.
Taylor Teagarden
Lars Anderson
Elvis Andrus
Austin Jackson
These are the four I would keep. Although I would love to also keep Buchholz and the Hawaian Royals first baseman.
John,
What do you think of wasting a major league spot on Buchholz? As soon as the season starts I can store him in my minor leagues and add another undrafted pitcher.
VL,
I was so disappointed with him from '07 that I was maybe a little to eager to get rid of him. Kind of like how you felt about Dontrelle Willis.
